Trieste Chairs by Aldo Jacober

£450

A set of four red Trieste folding chairs designed by Aldo Jacober for Alberto Bazzani in Italy during the 1960s. This iconic design is widely recognised as one of the most refined examples of Italian mid-century modern seating, combining minimalist construction with a distinctive curved backrest.

Crafted in lacquered wood, the chairs employ a clever folding construction in which two intersecting frames articulate the structure. This economical construction gives the piece a sense of visual lightness while maintaining stability when opened.

Both functional and sculptural, the Trieste chairs lend themselves easily to contemporary interiors. The bold red finish introduces an expressive accent within more neatural spaces, while the folding construction offers a practical solution for compact homes where seating needs to remain flexible.

This vintage set remains structurally sound. One pair is in very good cosmetic condition, while the other pair show age-related wear to the lacquer and would benefit from a paint restoration.
