Simris Lamp by Anders Pehrson

£250

The Simris desk lamp was designed by Anders Pehrson for the Swedish manufacturer Ateljé Lyktan during the 1960s. Constructed with steel stems and a base wrapped in genuine leather, the lamp combines careful material choices with restrained geometry and thoughtful proportions, reflecting the practicality and craftsmanship synonymous with Swedish mid-century modern design.

The model gained international recognition when thousands were supplied to the Olympic Village for the 1972 Munich Olympic Games. Originally introduced under the name Olympia in reference to this commission, the lamp was later renamed Simris at the request of the International Olympic Committee.

Compact and purposeful in form, the Simris lamp suits desks, bedside tables, or reading corners. Its adjustable arm allows light to be directed precisely where needed, while the understated design brings a quiet mid-century accent to contemporary interiors.
