Brutalist Vase by Beck & Jung

Ultima 15 is a brutalist object designed by the Swedish duo Beck & Jung. Defined by its geometric, modular surface, the design embodies a Scandinavian postmodern approach - where functional objects are elevated through pattern, structure, and form.

Working at the intersection of art and early computational aesthetics, Beck & Jung were among the first in Sweden to explore algorithmic image-making. This influence is evident in the structured repetition and surface modulation of the Ultima series.

Cast in aluminium, the form carries a distinct weight and presence, balancing utility with a sculptural quality. While originally conceived as an ashtray, it works equally well as a vase, trinket tray or a standalone object.
