Swedish Teak Mirror

A mid-century Swedish teak mirror produced by AB Glas & Trä Hovmantorp, a manufacturer based in the small glassmaking town of Hovmantorp in southern Sweden.

The company specialised in high-quality furniture and interior pieces during the 1950s and 1960s, producing objects that reflected the principles of Scandinavian modern design — clean lines, warm natural materials, and functional simplicity. Pieces from Glas & Trä are increasingly sought after for their understated craftsmanship and connection to Sweden’s post-war design tradition.

The mirror features a softly rounded solid teak frame with a warm, rich tone. The glass plate is secured with vintage metal fixings, a subtle functional detail characteristic of the period. In good vintage condition, with light foxing to the mirror plate consistent with age.
